Memory & Output Expanders

ASR/EPS Memory Expanders The EPS shipped with 512k of on-board sample memory, and this can be boosted to either 1 Meg (using a 2x expander cartridge) or to 2 Meg (using a 4x expander cartridge). The EPS-M rack sampler shipped with fully expanded memory. The EPS-16 Plus shipped with 1 Meg of on-board sample memory, and this can be boosted to 2 Meg by using a 2x expander cartridge. There is no 4x expander for the EPS-16 Plus. The EPS-16 Plus rack sampler shipped with fully expanded memory. The ASR-10 shipped with 2 Meg of on-board sample memory, and was the first Ensoniq sampler to use standard computer SIMMs for sample memory. The memory can be expanded to a maximum of 16 Meg. The ASR-88 uses the same configuration, but it shipped with the full 16 Meg installed from the factory.

ASR-10 8-Meg Memory Expander Kit (Part #ASRMEM) This kit contains two 4-Meg SIMMs, along with complete instructions for installing them into your keyboard. One kit will allow your keyboard to hold 16,000 blocks of sample data. Two kits will give an ASR the maximum memory of 31,000 blocks! There are two types of SIMMs that can be used in the ASR-10; if possible, please let us know your ASR's serial number so that we can send the correct type.

EPS-16 Plus 2x Memory Expander Cartridge (Part #E162X) Out of stock $129.95 A stock EPS-16 Plus will allow you to load 2040 blocks; with the 2x expander, you can load up to 4085 blocks of sample data! This expander is for the EPS-16 Plus only; it will not work with the EPS. EPS 4x Memory Expander Cartridge (Part #EPS4X) Out of stock $129.95 A stock EPS will allow you to load 1020 blocks; with the 4x expander, you can load up to 4085 blocks of sample data! This expander is for the EPS only; it will not work with the EPS-16 Plus. EPS 2x Memory Expander Cartridge (Part #EPS2X) $49.95 A stock EPS will allow you to load 1020 blocks; with the 2x expander, you can load up to 2040 blocks of sample data. This is a used expander for the EPS only; it will not work with the EPS-16 Plus.

Output Expanders The OEX-6sr Output Expander will give an ASR-10, ASR-88, or EPS-16 Plus keyboard six additional audio outputs; the OEX-8 output expander for the EPS gives an additional eight audio outputs. These are indispensable for use in the studio. You can send different instruments to different outputs, or even assign an individual wavesample (such as the just kick drum, for instance) to its own audio output! Comes complete with cable. These output expanders are long out of production, and rare to find these days.
