NOTE: In addition to the sound disks below, any of the Ensoniq ASR-format sample disks will work in the K2000 and K2500. The only stipulation is that the Kurzweil keyboards are limited in the amount that they will transpose samples upward, and this could lead to some "holes" in the keyboard mapping. In other words, say an Ensoniq ASR sampled instrument uses a single sample taken at Middle C and transposed across the entire keyboard range. When loaded into the K2000, this sample will only be transposed upward an octave, and the notes higher than this will not play. This will not be an issue for most multi-sampled instruments. This is an amazing set of vocal "choir" sounds, all with a delicious electronic flavor. A Roland SVC-350 vocoder was used to create Wendy Carlos/Kraftwerk-type sounds, and these are accompanied by a multitude of other vocal and synth-vocal samples.

Memory Expanders: Turbocharge your sampler with these memory expanders! These SIMMs will boost your Kurzweil sampler's RAM memory, allowing you to load larger sample banks. The K2000 uses hard-to-find 30-pin SIMMs, and there are four slots for installing these. The SIMMs must be installed in matching pairs. The K2500 and K2500X had different revisions of the main board; some K2500s require 30-pin SIMMs, others require 72-pin SIMMs. To determine which version you have, look at the serial number - if the seventh digit is a "Z" you will need 72-pin memory, and if the seventh digit is a "0" you will need 30-pin memory. The 30-pin boards have eight SIMM slots, so you can install four pairs of SIMMs. The 72-pin boards have two SIMM slots, but some SIMM sizes cannot be paired - they must be used alone. 4-Meg, 16-Meg, and 64-Meg SIMMs can be used together in any combination. 8-Meg, 32-Meg, and 128-Meg SIMMs can only be used singly; the other SIMM slot must remain unused. The K2600 uses 72-pin SIMMs, and has two SIMM slots. Only certain size SIMMs can be used together (see K2500, above).

Pedals
	Hosa Dual-Polarity Foot Pedal (Part #FSC604) $29.95 This foot switch is ideal for use as a sustain pedal on any Kurzweil keyboard. Unlike other pedals that tend to never stay put, this one has a rubber "gripper" bottom that keeps it in place. Some keyboards need a "normally open" switch pedal, others need a "normally closed" switch - which is why a Roland pedal works backwards on an Ensoniq keyboard, for instance. This new pedal has both! Just slide the switch on the back to whichever setting your keyboard needs. Solid metal construction.
	StudioLogic Damper-Style Foot Pedal (Part #VFP110) $34.95 The best selling pedal on the market! Strong enough to last in a working musician environment, with a mechanism that feels just like a real piano pedal. This pedal has a normally-open polarity, to work with Kurzweil, Ensoniq, Korg, Kawai, Casio, and others. (For Roland and Yamaha, you will need the VFP115 pedal.)
	StudioLogic Dual Damper-Style Foot Pedal (Part #VFP215) $59.95 Similar to the VFP110 pedal above, but with two pedals built into one case. You can use the right pedal for sustain, and the left pedal for any assignable on/off parameter. This pedal has one 1/4-inch stereo plug, and a normally-closed polarity; it will work with the Kurzweil PC1X, SP series, and Troubador keyboards only.
	Control Voltage Pedal (Part #CVP1) Out of stock $39.95 The Control Voltage (CV) pedal can be used either as a volume pedal, or as a modulator - similar to the mod wheel - to control certain aspects of the sounds in many Kurzweil and other keyboards. (Make sure your keyboard or sampler has a "Control Pedal" jack.) Since the CV pedal adds a new element of expression to your playing, once you try it, you'll never give it up!

Replacement Keys & Springs These plastic keys will replace broken ones on your keyboard. Most of these replacement keys are used, but in fine condition; some are new. There are several different types of keys used on the Kurzweil keyboards, so you will need to make sure you order the correct style (click on the link for your keyboard below). With the exception of the Top C note on the 61-note keyboards, all keys from octave to octave are identical, and all black keys within a given style are identical. In other words, a B note in the lowest octave uses the same key as a B note in any other octave. But the highest C note is different from the other C notes (see illustration below). If you do not know the note names, on the 61-note keyboard shown below, the white keys from the bottom (left side) up are: C, D, E, F, G, A, B, and then the sequence repeats.
